It is a wonderful time of year—flowers are blooming, birds are chirping, and our staff is hard at work for the MDC network. So what have we been up to and what do you have to look forward to at MDC?
Explore the New MDC Connect Design—We recently completed a new layout and design for our owners on MDC Connect. Our goal is to provide a more streamlined and intuitive user experience where owners can easily access project results, CEB TowerGroup Research, owner meeting information, owner homepages, and many more valuable resources available to you on our portal. Be sure to get acquainted with the new look and contact Krista Jo with any questions.
Projects—We have a whole library of meaningful research and project results available to you on MDC Connect. Some of our most recent projects include: Personalization, Member Experience – Call Center, Simplifying the Mortgage Process (Simple Nexus), Financial Education for Your Members (EverFi), Member Loyalty Measures, and more! Many of these results were presented at our recent February Owner Meeting. Weren’t able to attend but still want to learn about how these projects will benefit your credit union? Check out all of the results in our Projects Page on MDC Connect. Contact Krista Jo with any additional questions.
What to Look Forward To
A Focus on Innovation—We have tons of exciting projects and events currently in progress. Our Innovation Skills project is at a critical point in our Vendor Selection Phase. After extensive research on current innovation options and programs available to credit unions, MDC has identified two gaps to work within for our owners. An MDC-designed Innovation solution will focus on:
1.) Building a culture of innovation.
- CEO and board drives innovation
- Strategy and innovation are linked
- Human and financial resources are dedicated to innovation
- Innovation is viewed as everyone’s job
2.) Implementing innovation tools.
- Tools should be able to be implemented across the credit union
- Provide structure and a repeatable process to make innovation easier
- Needs to move beyond just “new product” innovation
- Has to include metrics
- Has to include the ability to leverage member data

Our Next Owner Meeting in Chicago—We are already busy planning for our next big gathering with owners, August 2-3 at the Gwen Hotel in downtown Chicago where we will be presenting more important project updates, bringing in industry disruptors, and anticipating what’s ahead for credit unions. Be sure to save the date now and look for registration to open up in June. See you there!
Enjoy the Season!
We are your network for ideas in motion.
