Financial Health

Credit unions by definition exist to promote the financial health of their members, but beyond our ability to offer lower rates and our ethos to serve members instead of profiting from customers, credit unions have often struggled to deliver meaningful ways to improve the financial health of their members while positively impacting the bottom line. MDC places a strong focus on financial health, and past and ongoing projects have delivered practical ways credit unions can respond to issues like the student loan debt crisis and the looming issue that many Baby Boomers are unprepared for retirement. We are also partnering with both the Foundation and the Financial Health Network to research the role credit unions can play in promoting member financial health more deeply.
