From traditional branch locations, mail and drive-through lanes, call centers and ATMs, to digital outlets such as websites, email, social media, mobile and video opportunities—there are more ways than ever to connect with customers. From all these possibilities, the question then becomes which of these ways to connect is the most effective? And how successful are we at delivering through these channels? Amongst this complexity, MEMBERS Development Company serves as a resource to help credit union owners navigate through this exciting and challenging time. That’s why it is no surprise that the theme for this year’s Summer Owner Meeting was “Connecting with Your Members.”
Hosted at theWit Hotel in downtown Chicago, the 2015 Summer Owner Meeting was the most popular to date. With 90% of our credit unions represented in attendance, it was great to collaborate, brainstorm and work together.
Adding to the excitement, MEMBERS Development Company enlisted a top-notch list of speakers and panelists including crowd favorites the Jellyvision Lab, Havas Worldwide and Facebook. As evidenced by the engaging, non-stop conversation among attendees, these experts brought priceless insights on modern trends and strategies.
One key insight was the importance of simplicity and its direct tie to member engagement. Whether it was the keynote speaker’s lesson on how to “Speak in Human” or the panel’s advice on how to achieve modern marketing success, the conversation all came back to simplicity. We’re all trying to solve the member engagement challenge, and sometimes the answer can be found by keeping it simple.
Between jam-packed sessions, we still had plenty of time for networking and fun. Attendees dined at Cibo Matto, one the trendiest places in the city, where conversations about the meeting continued into the evening. Following this was a dessert reception on the rooftop overlooking the skyline, the perfect backdrop for the evening.
MEMBERS Development Company’s 2015 Summer Owner Meeting was definitely one for the books. The networking, collaboration and innovation that happened in a few short days is truly impressive. We look forward to continuing to provide opportunities for credit unions to gather with common purpose—next stop is Fort Lauderdale in February, where we’re excited to once again see all of our owners.
