MDC University Going Strong One Year After Launch

During the pandemic MDC recognized an increased need for on-demand learning solutions targeting remote teams, so we launched MDC University (hosted on MDC Connect) right after the 2020 August Owner Meeting. Featuring content we developed in partnership with some of our key collaborators and subject matter experts, the bite-sized courses on MDC University are an easy way to dig deeper into highly relevant topics at your own pace, with new content being added on a regular basis.

Member Experience

Designed in partnership with our MX experts Avtex, our member experience courses are designed at both the 100 (introductory) and 200-level (intermediate) of difficulty. Current coursework includes:

  • Journey Mapping 101 and 201
  • Design 101 and 201
  • Member Experience Culture 101
  • Research 101
  • Measuring MX 101
  • Employee Experience 101 – The Link to Better Member Experiences (coming soon)

Each course is designed with a video lesson, quiz, and additional resources you can download for future reference and deeper study at your own pace. These courses are a fantastic way to refresh or test your current knowledge or begin to understand the fundamental disciplines of member experience. You will receive a certificate for each course exam you pass, and if you pass multiple courses, you’ll get an extra-special gift from MDC!

Innovation and Productivity

Late last year, we launched on-demand innovation and productivity training from FutureThink! There are 23 on-demand videos to build skills at your own pace—all FREE! These short videos on MDC Connect are accessible anytime by any employees at all MDC owner organizations.

And for those organizations that need to upskill remote teams, FutureThink also offers MDC owners exclusive discounts on fast, on-demand, and remote training for our owners that explore topics like innovation, productivity, culture building, and more.

Interested in Future Foresight and Signals Training?

Nearly 40 professionals representing over 30 MDC owners have previously participated in MDC-exclusive foresight practitioner trainings with Institute for the Future (IFTF), our partner in MDC’s scenario planning work. We are currently assessing our owners’ levels of interest in sending additional participants to a new session tentatively scheduled for October in Chicago.

  • Cost –  $6,000 per participant
    • The cost to attend may be less based on the number of confirmed participants.
  • Location – Chicago
  • Dates – Two full days in October – exact dates TBD

This training is in high demand, and openings can be hard to come by. However, because of the interest shown by MDC, IFTF is offering our owners the opportunity to attend another MDC-exclusive session if we are able to confirm enough owners would sign up.
